The U.S. dollar rallied against other major currencies Tuesday, as investors awaited a speech from Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen.

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to 1.1583 dollars from 1.1612 dollars in the previous session, while the dollar bought 113.91 Japanese yen, higher than 113.80 yen of the previous session.
