On October 8 (local time), Global Finance officially unveiled the result of “World’s Best Banks” in Washington DC, USA. ICBC was awarded the Best Bank in the Global Emerging Market, becoming the first Chinese commercial bank to win this global title.
Global Finance has carried out the best bank selection at three levels (global, intercontinental and national) around over 100 countries and territories in eight major areas on a yearly basis since 1993. In 2009, Global Finance established the award of “Best Bank in the Global Emerging Market”. Since then, it has selected one bank in the global emerging market each year to commend its outstanding performance and financial contribution. The “Best Bank in the Global Emerging Market” won by ICBC is another global award granted by respected global media, following “Global Bank of the Year” granted by The Banker in 2014 and “Best Bank in the Global Emerging Market” granted by Euromoney in 2015.
