The Asian Banker has recently announced 2015 results of champion awards in the banking industry. ICBC is named The Custodian Bank of the Year for its excellent performance in the international custody services, which is the first Chinese commercial bank to win this award.
ICBC has ranked No.1 custodian bank in China for 18 consecutive years since it launched asset custody service in 1998. By the end of 2015, the assets under the Bank’s custody totaled RMB 11.5 trillion, making it the first bank in China whose assets under custody exceeded RMB 1 trillion. In recent years, ICBC has actively expanded its custody services by taking the lead in launching value-added services such as performance evaluation and risk management to provide different customers with customized custody services.
ICBC has been committed to establishing a global network of custody services to ensure customized delivery of custody services around the globe. It has built close business relations with around 120 overseas asset custody institutions. By the end of 2015, ICBC’s global assets under custody reached RMB 213.2 billion, ranking the first among Chinese banks.
The champion awards in the banking industry, initiated by The Asian Banker, are regarded as the most privileged and professional selection campaign in the financial service industy in Asia Pacific region, with over 200 Asian financial institutions included in the selection.
