ICBC Distributes RMB 563.4 Billion Dividends to Shareholders During Nine Years after IPO
 

ICBC has completed the distribution of A-share dividends of 2014, paying around RMB 68,859 million (before tax) dividends to 650,000 A-share shareholders registered in the shareholder register as of July 6, 2015. The earnings before tax per share is RMB 0.2554, representing a dividend yield ratio of 6.38% based on the average price of A-share in 2014, which is well above the one-year RMB term deposit interest rate.

Since its IPO in Shanghai and Hong Kong in 2006, ICBC has maintained a long-term stable cash dividend mechanism and cumulatively created cash dividends equivalent to around RMB 563.4 billion for its shareholders. The average dividend payout ratio was around 40.6% from 2007 to 2014. The cash dividends (before tax) paid by ICBC in 2014 equaled to around RMB 91,026 million and ICBC will pay cash dividends (before tax) equivalent to around RMB 22,167 million to H-share shareholders after paying A-share dividends.

According to estimates, if an investor buys 10,000 A-shares when ICBC was listed and holds the shares to now, the income received in the form of cash dividends will exceed RMB 16,000.
