ICBC has recently distributed ordinary share dividends in 2015, giving out RMB 83.15 billion to registered ordinary shareholders as at July 7, 2016, among which A-share dividends stood at RMB 62.901 billion and H-share RMB 20.249 billion. The earnings per share before tax were RMB 0.2333 and the dividend payout ratio was around 30.3%.
ICBC has long persisted in stable cash dividend distribution since going public in Shanghai and Hong Kong on October 27, 2006, paying out totally RMB 646.5 billion dividend returns to shareholders from 2006 to 2015. Since 2007, the average annual dividend payout ratio was 39.4%, making the Group to be the highest dividend payer among all A-share listed companies each year.
Experts pointed out that from the perspective of dividend yield ratio, the Bank's dividend yield ratio was 5.1%, well above the benchmark of ICBC's ordinary A-share price at the end of 2015, and much higher than the one-year fixed deposit rate and the one-year government bond yield. In addition, since 2008, ICBC's dividend payout ratio has been higher than the one-year fixed deposit rate of the same period for eight years in a row. In H-share market, benchmarking against ICBC's ordinary H-share price at the end of 2015, the dividend yield ratio was 5.9%, holding leading position in the market.
