ICBC Issues over Seven Million Official Cards

By the end of March 2016, ICBC has issued over seven million official cards, and successfully cooperated with over 70,000 government departments and public institutions in pushing forward official card reforms.

An official with ICBC said that to support the government’s anti-corruption effort, ICBC has stepped up efforts to promote official cards and provide official consumption and financial reimbursement services for budget organizations at all levels and large-sized enterprises to ensure the traceability of consumption, basis of reimbursement, security and feedback of card use. Government users are enabled to implement multi-level pre-authorization and limit control over card holders to directly lock in risk exposure. In terms of reimbursement, the location, amount and time of consumption can be retained for official expenditures such as meeting and travel via the cards, significantly improving financial management efficiency. In addition, the official cards offer featured functions and services such as lifelong annual fee exemption, preferential air ticket, travel insurance and data analysis. Holders are entitled to value-added services related to travel such as ticket booking, car use/parking and tax refund.

So far, ICBC has become the largest credit card issuer in Asia with more than 110 million issued cards. Expenditure and overdraft of credit cards both rank atop across the banking industry.
