Forbes has recently released 2016 Forbes Global 2000, in which 15 Chinese companies made the top 100 list with the top three positions held by Chinese commercial banks. ICBC defends the first position for the fourth consecutive year.
According to Forbes, despite slowdown in China's once rapid economic growth, the resilient performance of Chinese commercial banks helps secure the top three spots, which is little changed compared with the previous year. By sector, banks take six spots among the top 10 on the list. By geography, US companies account for half of the top 10, along with four Chinese commercial banks and one Japanese company.
